Food and Farming

Food and Farming

Welcome to Food and farming. This new module supports primary school children learning about where their food comes from and how it is farmed.

Food and farming is the latest addition to Food - a fact of life. This new section provides lots of great resources, such as lesson ideas for the busy teacher, pre-prepared worksheets for children, PowerPoint presentations and colour photographs, as well as a new exciting suite of cooking and farming video clips. In addition, there are 3 new interactive activities about where food comes from - these are really valuable resources for use with interactive whiteboards and supporting ICT in the classroom.

As with the  other modules on this website, Food and farming is divided into 2 age phases - 5 to 7 and 8 to 11. In these two areas you will find free resources for use in school. The Healthy eating module is currently being updated to include the eatwell plate. The 5-7 section is complete! Click here to download these new resources.

NEW! You can also sign up for the Food - a fact of life podcast. The December episode is now available!

The Year of Food and Farming starts in September 2007. To find out more, go to www.yearoffoodandfarming.org.uk
