Food - a fact of life conference for Home Economics teachers in Scotland

Food - a fact of life is delighted to be running a hands-on, interactive conference in collaboration with Abertay University, which will be held on Saturday 16 November 2024.
This 100% subsidised conference is aimed at trainee, new and experienced teachers and will provide curriculum support and teaching resources for food-related S1-S6 courses.
There will be an opportunity to network with like-minded professionals, work with experienced Abertay University staff and update your knowledge and skills to enhance teaching and learning of food and nutrition education.
Registration and refreshments will be from 9.30am, with a prompt start at 10.00am. The conference will finish at 2.30pm and brunch will be provided during the morning.

What will be covered?
The detailed programme will be available soon, but will mainly consist of interactive workshops where teachers will experience the fantastic facilities that Abertay University has to offer, whilst developing their knowledge and skills to enhance their teaching and classroom delivery. There will also be a qualifications update from SQA and an opportunity to hear about new resources and support from Food – a fact of life.
Representatives from the Royal Highland Educational Trust, Quality Meat Scotland and the new Home Economics Association for Teachers (HEAT) will also be joining us on the day.
