The Food - a fact of life (FFL) Network Trainers comprises a national team of practicing teachers who are working in partnership with FFL to host and deliver training on a local level.

The FFL Network Trainers have been recruited through a rigorous application process and are currently undertaking training with FFL. Training will be available from April 2019 - watch this space!

The topics of the training sessions will vary, although will be based on agreed priorities and linked to the curriculum/qualifications, as well as the Food teaching framework. It is likely that these will include:

  • ‘back to basics’ food skills;
  • applied nutrition through practical activities;
  • food science investigations;
  • food provenance.

Depending on the topic, the training event could be a half or full day (for practical activities), an after school ‘twilight’ session, or part of a local teacher network meeting (as a ‘guest’ presenter).

All FFL Network Training events will be provided free-of-charge. Attendees will receive refreshments, resources and links to further information. A certificate of attendance will also be provided – useful for performance management and compiling professional development records.
