Training and support
Training and support is available to registered TPFN programme members through recorded webinars and workshops, and online modular courses.
Primary educators can choose which training to undertake based on their own needs, following an audit of knowledge and skills, and their particular school/setting.
Training covers the three main themes of healthy eating, cooking and where food comes from, along with planning and teaching the curriculum and taking a whole school approach, including championing food and nutrition across the school day.
There is also an INSET package that has been designed for you to use for your own personal development or as a whole staff, year group or team CPD package.
Why not run an after school or INSET day training with your colleagues focusing on food and nutrition in the primary curriculum? You could watch a recording of a webinar from the TPFN programme or watch one or all of the seven short videos focusing on healthy eating, cooking and where food comes from.
FREE online modular training is also available to primary educators across the UK, which will support those teaching Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 (England and Wales), P1 to P6 (Northern Ireland) and P2 (first level) to P6 (second level) (Scotland). The modular courses can be done at any time and at a pace to suit you. There is a certificate of completion at the end of the course, which can be added to your portfolio and used as a record of your CPD.
Details about the modular courses can be found on the Food - a fact of life training page.
